Who we, and our dogs are...
The following individuals provide lessons on a regular and semi regular basis at the Far-Flung Field:
Toni Barnhart: became involved in the sport of Dog Agility in 2000 in California. She has been teaching agility in East Hawaii for 18 years. Her dogs have earned NADAC elite and AKC Masters titles.
Dawn Bradford: trains two dogs currently, a Border Collies and a Doodle. Her dogs all enjoy swimming as much as agility! She has competed in NADAC and AKC and most of all she enjoys helping teams find their bond and excel in agility.
Emma Gerrish: Emma fell in love with agility with her first dog, Noel a Sheltie, when she was 15 years old, and have been obsessed with agility ever since. She currently has three Shelties active in agility: Kip, Brie & Story. She enjoys competing in NADAC, and AKC trials, and strives to make agility training as fun as possible for the dogs by focusing on fun and motivation, and a solid foundation.
Sandy Hamamoto: Sandy has been involved in agility for over 7 years, and currently trains with Mochi, an 11 year old border collie mix Mochi and her new addition Kuma. She is a member of HOTC and competes in AKC Agility & Rally. Mochi is a Certified Therapy Dog who visits Hawaii Care Choices Hospital and goes to the library for the "Read to Me program.”
We provide private and semi-private lessons in agility for interested individuals and their dogs on the Big Island. We emphasize positive training, and having fun with your dog(s). We also stress the need for strong foundation skills.
Please see the "classes" page of this website for more details on classes.
